HR support that gives you clarity, compliance and comfort.

“Sam was absolutely fantastic to work with –
adaptable, efficient, extremely capable and
overall a pleasure to be around.”

If you need to get your HR ducks in a row but aren’t quite sure where to start, working with an independent HR Consultant could be the answer.  From the operational basics like contracts, employee handbooks and policies, to higher level strategic advice on employee engagement or people strategies, we can lighten the load.

In many businesses, HR can be the responsibility of a senior manager or company director who may not have specialist HR experience. If that’s you, using a qualified professional can help you achieve the results you’re looking for without taking up all your time.  We work with you, on-site or remotely, to keep your business compliant, your desk clear of HR paperwork and you engaged and motivated.

Training really is our thing! And we make it fun! It’s often viewed as a necessary evil in companies, and we prefer to make it a great use of people’s time – plus an opportunity for self-development and team bonding.  We encourage you to implement development plans to identify areas of personal growth for your teams. From there, we can help you build a suitable training and development plan, which allows managers and employees the opportunity to flourish.  Once trained, they’ll work with more confidence and blossom into their next position (if they want to).  Better performance means happier employees and in turn greater customer service. Let’s face it, we all know that means repeat business and money in your company’s pocket!

Not sure what sort of training you need or what’s available? Call us and we’ll happily chat through some ideas. We’ll help identify any training gaps and suggest the type and level of training that would work for you.  Maybe it’s help for first time managers, employment law for Company Directors or generally managing conflict in the workplace.

We’re also seeing increased interest in mental wellbeing and ‘Dignity at Work’ training.  This is often an area that managers and supervisors need help with. We are frequently told that managers are afraid of ‘getting it wrong’ and our sessions explore tricky and sensitive situations in a safe and risk-free environment.

Our courses are always informative, well-structured, beneficial and fun.  We’re happy to deliver ‘off the shelf’ packages but our real forte is creating bespoke sessions you really need (we’ll normally bring biscuits too!).

After our courses have been delivered, we can continue supporting delegates through coaching and mentoring to ensure their newly acquired skills are put into practice and become truly embedded in the workplace.

We understand that taking steps to invest in training and choosing the right provider is a big decision.  If you’re looking for a partner to really understand and help your business, you’re in the right place.

Workplace wellbeing is very close to our hearts.  It’s a topic that so many of us can relate to; whether it’s sleep, stress awareness, nutrition, exercise, financial matters, mindfulness or general health. If you need to develop a wellbeing strategy, we can sit beside you and guide you to develop something perfect for your business.

Exploring where you are now and deciding where you want to be in the future is a sensible starting point. Then we can create a plan to get you there.  There’s more to workplace wellbeing than offering hatha yoga and lunchtime smoothies – our experience and your ideas could make a huge impact on the lives of your team.

“We were lucky enough to work with Sam as our first HR Manager in our scaling SME. Sam was absolutely fantastic to work with – adaptable, efficient, extremely capable and overall a pleasure to be around. She knows HR inside out and also has a fantastic grasp of how HR needs to fit with the overall company needs and direction.

Our business definitely benefited from Sam’s guidance, ideas and organisational skills. I have no hesitation of recommending her to other companies – large or small!”

Founder and CEO (scaling SME)

“I had the pleasure of working with Sam over nearly 3 years supporting her from a legal perspective on a range of HR issues including employee relations/disputes, various projects (including TUPE and redundancy) and data protection.

Sam is one of the most commercially astute and insightful HR professionals I’ve ever worked with. She is quick to understand the issues and devise practical solutions balancing the interests of the organisation and employees. Sam is a strong communicator and influencer; she brings people together and I have seen her excel at this is some very tense and challenging circumstances.”

Employment Lawyer and Data Privacy Expert (global Corporate)

Sam Woozley established Rephrase HR in 2019 after her own wellbeing journey led her to needing a new challenge. Following 12 years of working in-house in senior HR roles, Sam decided to take the plunge and set up her own consultancy practice.

Since 2008, she’s gained considerable experience working for large corporations in a number of international HR roles.  This has given her the essential knowledge and understanding to look at HR from a strategic or operational point of view, advising anyone with responsibility for employees.  She now works with a range of companies from small family businesses to much larger organisations, often at Board or senior leadership level.

Sam is CIPD qualified and is a trained mental health first aider.
